Bitza week for WOYWW

This last week has been a bitsa week.
I've done bitsa this and bitsa that
but nothing much of anything at all.

Firstly for those who don't want to
suffer through my ramblings
and multitude of photos,
here is my desk.
 Same old mess
but something is different
Little Miss used my computer and
lost my Doctor Who desk top pic
(ooh the inhumanity)
but she redeemed herself by
creating an even better one.

How cool is that, now my Dalek has a friend!!

I've been playing with a few canvasses this week,
one I love, one is just plain nuts
and one is yuk (at the moment).
-The one I love-
My jelly fish have been appearing out of the
ocean depths.

I've been trying to think of a good title
for when it's finished.
What do you think of
Attack of the Jellygobbles??

-The one that's just plain nuts-
Mr Pelican is home
but far from finished.

Stupid here forgot to add white paint
to the white gloopy stuff.
It dries clear you see and of course
now he looks as though he's
a dirty little grub, which of course he may be
especially if he is part of my mad family.

- The yuk one-

I'm learning tonal colour and so I have to start
with muddy (proper term for pookack) colours
and move up to brights.
I just can't get past those icky poo colours.
Ewww, makes me shudder just looking at it.
I tell you, how on earth am I supposed to get
glorious bright colours out of that poop.

I trust my teacher but this time I'm not so sure.

Well that's my week so far,
sorry for all the pictures and ramblings Julia.

Now why don't you hop across to
check out other desks around the world.

I bet they don't have poopy pookack
paintings!!

  1. Glad you got your Dr. Who back. Can't live without him (grin). Yes, I'm a HUGE fan, too.

Love the pelican. Actually love the rocks he's sitting on. Happy WOYWW from # 2.

  4. Clever little Miss making Mum a fab screensaver. Beautiful work on your desk, as usual and I never thought I would say this but I think I'm a little in love with jellyfish....but only the ones on canvas, the other kind scare the pants of me. I mean, a see- through creature, how weird is that.

  5. I'm sure you'll figure out a way to make the colour pop just think of the poop as shading.... that sounds wrong to type out but I'm sure you will get it to work hugs Nikki 7

  11. Ah this tells me your DD has been fiddling in areas of your computer that she should stay out off. I would seriously kill my daughter if she did that. LOL I so love your Jellyfish I call it Jellyfish Explosion but awesome anyway. Also love the makings of the bird in flight.

    Thanks for sharing.

  12. Well they all look brilliant to me even unfinished and at the moment Mr Pelican has my vote - I like things a little kooky. Glad to hear that Dr Who has been regenerated on your computer, a girl's gotta get her priorities right! Happy WOYWW, Cindy #51

  13. The jelly fish are fab and I'm with you with avoiding icky poo colours even if they do have a proper name. Ends with the Dr. Who theme music!!!

  14. Vonny, you really make me laugh - you are so rude to yourself!!! Lol! I think all your art is amazing. I know that even the "yuk" one as you call it, will be redeemed and will come well up to scratch in your usual style.

The jellyfish one is nothing short of awesome... I would love to hang that on my wall. It is so ethereal and the colours so beautiful... I love visiting our local aquarium and seeing the jellyfish. Amazing creatures.

Your desk looks great - a real hive of industry, and what great light you have. As for your Doctor Who desktop wallpaper, great stuff! My hubby's a great fan, but I just have memories of hiding behind the sofa as a kid! The cybermen gave me nightmares for weeks. I did like Tom Baker as the doctor, though.

    Happy WOYWW,

  22. Hi Vonny, thanks for your amusing reply lol!! Buying black paper indeed... The whole point is that this project is being made entirely from recycled materials ROFL! As for your Dad's trousers, I had visions of Jake the Peg with numerous legs all different lengths! At least you only have to get two the same at any one time, as long as they are actually on the same pair of trousers!!! Your poor Dad...

  23. Hi Vonny, great post and I like your jelly fish canvas - love all those blues. The pelican might be my favourite because to my (untrained) eye he looks as though he is standing on a pile of books, and I love books :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #70

  24. Oh my word...I adore your jelly fish canvas Vonny. I'm speechless for words to describe just how fantastic I think it is. I'd love to see it in the flesh! ;D
As for the poopydoop painting I have every faith in your ability that it too will be stunning.
Unfortunately I can't say the same for Dr Who...I've just never been a fan. Not since I had to hide behind the sofa when the Daleks entered the programme. I had nightmares for months!
Have a great week and hopefully one day I may come back with my desk for WOYWW.
    xoxo

  25. Ahhh! The jellyfish emerge!
I can't help but love the pelican because of the loose, wild colors. I do love bright colors.
And I have faith that you will bring the deep, bold colors forward from the tame background and the bird will emerge in glorious technicolor! :):)
